Sārag mėhlā 5 ḏupḏe gẖar 4 Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.

Mohan gẖar āvhu kara▫o joḏrī▫ā. Mān kara▫o abẖimānai bola▫o bẖūl cẖūk ṯerī pari▫a cẖirī▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
O (mohan) fascinating Master, I (karau) make this (jodariaa) entreaty, please (aavhu) come (ghar-i) home, i.e. enable me to experience Your presence within me.
I (karau = do) act in (maan-u) pride, (bolau) speak (abhimaanai) arrogantly, commit acts of (bhool) transgression and (chook) omission, but am (teyri) Your (chiriaa) maid-servant, o (pria) Beloved. 1.
(Rahaau) dwell on this and contemplate.

I (sunau) hear You are (nikatt-i) near (ar-u) and (naahi) not (peykhau) seeing You I (bharam-i bharam-i) keep wandering in search (bhareeaa) filled with (dukh) pain.
But You are within me; when (gur) the guru (hoey) is (kripaal) kind to (laah-i) remove (paardo = curtain) the screen of other thoughts, I can (milau) meet (laal) the Beloved and my (man) mind (hareeaa = green) shall blossom – I shall have solace instead of pain. 1.

||2||1||24||
(Jey) if (suaami) the Master (bisrai) is forgotten for (eyk) one moment, I (jaanau = know) feel it like (kott-i) a crore (dinas) days and lakh (bareeaa/varhey) years.
Now, (jau = when) ever since I (paaee) found (bheer/bheerr = gathering) company of (saadhsangat-i) the holy congregation – where virtues of the Almighty are recounted and learnt to emulate – since (tau) then I (sang-i = with, mireeaa/mileeaa = met) have company of (har-i) the Almighty within. 2. 1. 24.

Sārag mėhlā 5. Ab ki▫ā socẖa▫o socẖ bisārī. Karṇā sā so▫ī kar rahi▫ā ḏėh nā▫o balihārī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Composition of the fifth Guru in Raga Saarag. (Kiaa) what should I (sochau) think/plan (ab) now? I have (bisaari = forgotten) stopped (soch = thinking) worrying.
The Almighty is (kar-i rahiaa) doing (saa = that) everything that (karna) is to be done; my request is to (deyh-i) give awareness of Your (naau) Naam or virtues and commands so as to live by them; I (balihaari) adore You, my Master. 1.
(Rahaau) dwell on this and contemplate.

Cẖahu ḏis fūl rahī bikẖi▫ā bikẖ gur manṯar mūkẖ garuṛārī. Hāth ḏe▫e rākẖi▫o kar apunā ji▫o jal kamlā alipārī. ||1||
(Bikh-u) the poison of (bikhiaa) vices (phool-i rahi = blooming) is spread (chahu = four, dis = directions) all over; (gur) the guru gives (garurraari) the Garurr mantra to utter (mookh-i) from the mouth to counter the effect of the poison. (Note: It is believed that if one recites the Garurr mantra the snake poison has no effect).
(Kar-i) considering me IT’s (aapna) own, the Almighty (dey-i) gave IT’s (haath) hand, i.e. has kindly (raakhio) protected from vices in the world-play (jio) like (kamla) the lotus flower (alipaari) is untouched by (jal) water in which it stands. 1.

(Hau) I am (naahi = not, kichh-u = anything) nothing; (kiaa) what can (mai) I (hosa = shall be) be? (sabh) all (kal) powers are (dhaari) held by (hi) only (tum) You, O Almighty.
(Sadkaari) by virtue of guidance of (sant) the guru, I (bhaag pario = started running, paachhai = behind) have started obeying (har-i = Almighty) Divine commands; please (raakh-u) protect me. 2. 2. 25.

Sārag mėhlā 5. Ab mohi sarab upāv birkāṯe. Karaṇ kāraṇ samrath su▫āmī har ekas ṯe merī gāṯe. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Composition of the fifth Guru in Raga Saarag. (Moh-i) I have (ab) now (birkaatey = no attachment) given up (sarab) all other (upaav) measures.
(Karan) the Creator of (kaaran) the creation is (smarath) the Omnipotent (suaami) Master; (meyri) my (gaatey) emancipation is possible only (tey) by (har-i) the Almighty (eykas-u = one) alone – and I live by IT’s virtues and commands. 1.
(Rahaau) dwell on this and contemplate.

I have (deykhey) seen (naana) numerous (roop) forms and (bahu) numerous (ranga) colors – people recommend worship of various gods and goddesses and recitation of mantras; but I have found there is (naahi) nothing (an) else like being (bhaantey) like (tum) You, i.e. by emulating Your virtues and obeying Your commands, to get solace.
O (tthaakur) Master, You (deynh-i) give (adhaar-u = support) sustenance (kau) to (sarab) all; you are (sukhdaatey) the giver of comfort for (jeea) the soul and (praan) life. 1.

(Jau) when I (pario = got, haar-i = defeated) tired (bhramtou bhramtou = wandering) trying other means, I (mil-i) found the guru, with whose guidance I (praatey) placed myself at Your (charan) feet, i.e. in care and obedience of Almighty.
This is how I (paaiaa) obtained (sukh-u = one comfort) the supreme comfort/solace of (sarab) all; now (ih) this (raatey = night – halt like a traveller) life is (bihaani) passing (sookh-i) in peace, says fifth Nanak. 2. 3. 26.

Sārag mėhlā 5. Ab mohi labḏẖi▫o hai har tekā. Gur ḏa▫i▫āl bẖa▫e sukẖ▫ḏā▫ī anḏẖulai māṇik ḏekẖā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Composition of the fifth Guru in Raga Saarag. (Ab) now (moh-i) I have (labdhio) found (har-i) the Almighty, i.e. have become aware of Naam or Divine virtues and commands, (tteyka = support) the mainstay for life.
(Gur) the guru (bhaey) was (daiaal) kind to be (sukhdaaee) the giver of comfort – fulfiller of my yearning for God; I (andhuley = blind) was oblivious of Naam being present within, but (deykha) saw (maanik-u) the jewel – of Naam, i.e. the guru guided to find Naam within and live by it. 1.
(Rahaau) dwell on this and contemplate.
Kāte agi▫ān ṯimar nirmalī▫ā buḏẖ bigās bibekā. Ji▫o jal ṯarang fen jal ho▫ī hai sevak ṯẖākur bẖa▫e ekā. ||1||
The guru (kaattey = cut) ended (timar = darknesses) other ideas and made the mind (nirmaleeaa = free of dirt) purified; (budh-i) understanding became (bibeyka) discerning and (bigaas) blossomed finding the Almighty within.
(Jio) like (tarang) waves and (pheyn-u) foam of (jal = water) the sea (hoi hai) become (jal) water, i.e. merge in the sea, (seyvak) the servant/seeker and (tthaakur) Master (bhaey) became (eyka) one, i.e. unlike earlier, I remain absorbed in obedience to the Almighty, and have peace. 1.

The place (tey) from (jah) where the waves (utthio) rose, they (aaio) came back (tah) there (hi) itself – into the sea, similarly (sabh hi) every soul can become (eyka) one (eykai) with the One Creator through living by Naam.
Then (har-i) the Almighty (praanpati = master of life) Creator (aaio = comes, dristt-i = in sight) is seen at (srab) all (tthaai) places (samka) equally, i.e. the One God pervades everywhere and is in everyone, says fifth Nanak. 2. 4. 27.

Composition of the fifth Guru in Raga Saarag. (Meyra) my (man-u) mind (maangai = asks) seeks (hi) only (eykai) the One (pria) Beloved Master.
I have (aaiao) come (peykh-i) after seeing (sarab) all places and (deys) countries, i.e. after having surveyed the world, I have found that none (laagai) seems (samsar-i) equal to (rom) a hair of (pria) the Beloved Almighty. 1.
(Rahaau) dwell on this and contemplate.

(Mai) I (neerey) lay out (anik) numerous (bhojan) food items of (bahu) many (binjan) tastes; but the mind does not (ruchaangai = aptitude) desire even (dristt-i = sight, karai = makes) to look (sio) at (tin) them.
The mind (chaahai) wants (har-i) divine (ras-u) taste, i.e. wants to experience God within; my (mukh-i) mouth (tteyrai) says/remembers (pria pria) the Beloved all the time, (jio) like (al-i) the bumble bee (lobhaangai) is attracted by (kamla) the lotus flower. 1.

(Gur-i) the guru has (patthaaio) sent me to be (paah-i) with – guided to find – (prabh) the Almighty; o my (sakhaa) friends, (milahu) come (gal-i laagi) embrace me – you also follow the guru with me, i.e. let us all join the holy congregation says fifth Nanak. 2. 5. 28.

Composition of the fifth Guru in Raga Saarag. (Ab) now (moro) my (man-u) mind (maanaa’n = accepts) is in tune with commands of (tthaakur) the Master.
(Saadh) the guru (bhaey hai) has been (kripal) merciful and (daiaal) kind to (chheydio = make hole) destroy (dustt-u) evil (ihu = this, bigaanaa = not own) other ideas – which were masking the mind from Naam or Divine virtues and commands. 1.

My (bhau) fear (mittiaa = erased) has gone and I have (bhaey) become (nirbhau) fearless since I (paaio) found (har-i) the Almighty, and placed (paatthanga) reliance on IT, i.e. be in IT’s care and obedience, says fifth Nanak. 2. 7. 30.

(Kaam) lust, (krodh) anger, (lobh) greed, (mad = intoxicant) pride and (matsar) jealousy; I (arap-i) gave these away (sagal) all, (keena) making (daan-u) a donation, i.e. dispelled them from the mind.
(Gur-i) the guru (deeo) gave the (aukhadh-u) medicine/prescription of (drirraaey) creating firm commitment to (mantr = teaching) living by Naam; (tau) then I (milio) found (sagal = all, prabeena = wise) the all-pervasive Master. 1.

Garihu ṯerā ṯū ṯẖākur merā gur ha▫o kẖo▫ī parabẖ ḏīnā.
(Grihu = house) the mind is (teyra = yours) dedicated to You and (too) You are (meyra) my (tthakur) Master; (gur-i) the guru gave me this understanding by (khoi = losing) dispelling (hau) ego from the mind and (deena) gave, i.e. led me to, (prabh-u) the Almighty.
